A depleted BMCC was no match for Lacock, and especially their main three batsmen.
Asked to bat Steve Copeland and Adam Mitchell set about any loose bowling with glee. They had reached 37 when Mitchell (27) was caught behind off Brown, who was proving almost unplayable.
Phil Steans joined Copeland and together the two Lacock stalwarts added 97 for the 2nd wicket before Steans departed for 30. It was now that Copland really opened up as he realised he was the home side’s last chance of getting a large total.
As wickets began to fall at regular intervals at the other end, Copland reached another century and looked very disappointed when he was 6th man out with the score on 200, Copeland scoring 121.
Only a 9th wicket of partnership of 37 between Rodger (16) and Walker (22*) enabled Lacock to reach 244 all out.
Ben Brown was by far the pick of the bowlers with figures of 12-5-22-2.
BMCC needed to get off to a solid start if they were to stand any chance of reaching their target, but alas this didn’t happen, being reduced to 7/2 off 5 overs.
Matt Hunt and Ben Brown started to rebuild and their partnership had reached 56 when Brown was out for 39.
Lacock were now completely in charge as the rest of the batting struggled, with only Hunt (25) and Clive Bayley (15) really coping.
BMCC were finally all out for 127 in the 38th over. Pick of the bowlers being J.Walker who took 5/21 off 7 overs.
