DEPUTY manager of Leekes, Jon Miller, will be abseiling 120 feet down a rock face at Weston-super-Mare for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Jon, who has been the deputy manger at Leekes for over 25 years, will be joining a group of retired police officers from Weston-super-Mare and Nailsea on the 7th May to abseil down the rock face of Uphill Quarry and hope to raise £10,000.
Jon said, “My father-in-law who was originally scheduled to do this, recently had surgery so he is unable to participate, so to put his mind at rest I volunteered to take his place which, now with it rapidly approaching, seems a really bad idea!
“I have had lots of involvement in various charity projects but nothing like this and as I have a fear of heights, I am now getting very nervous it has to be said!
“This is an important charity that provides care and support for those suffering from this disease and their families and it would be great if people who know me from the store, could go online and donate.”
