TO mark their 50th anniversary, Melksham Lions is hosting a Spot the Golden Lion competition starting from 29th July throughout the summer holidays.
Lion stickers will be hidden in shop windows throughout the town, and residents are challenged to find the special Golden Lion stickers among them..
Lion Paul Carter said, “Mark down the shops with a Golden Lion, add them up and note the total. It’s a circular route, so you can do it all in one go, or come back time and time again over the school break. Why not pop into the shops and see what they have to offer?
“Then hand in your form with your name and contact details to the Lions Club stall at our Picnic in the Park on Saturday 14th September. From those with the correct total, a draw will be made on the day: First prize is a Longleat Family Pass courtesy of other Lions; second prize is a £50 voucher for the Toy Shop in Melksham; and third prize is a junior stationery bundle.
“We have created a Picnic in the Park brochure and in this is a pullout listing the 116 participating shops. The brochures will be available by donation at the Tourist Information Centre, the town hall, Cobblers Bench, Card & News Centre, Gonjoo cafe and bakehouse, The Factory Shop, Sports Bug, 4 Stars Dance and The Pig & Whistle.
“Thanks to all the advertisers who have supported the brochure, you might find a special offer amongst them! You’ll have all summer to complete the challenge, so why not have everyone in your family have a go and increase your chances of winning. Stay safe, enjoy and good luck.”
