MELKSHAM Lions Club recently made donations to Melksham Air Training Corps (ATC) and the family of local boy Harry Kirkman, as well as presenting a certificate to Len Bealing for his years of helping the club.
£900 was given to the ATC as a thank you for their continued help to the Lions; in particular for the assistance with the Christmas float. The money will go towards equipment for cadets taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme and their summer camp.
£250 was donated to three year-old Harry Kirkman, whose family are raising £60,000 for him to go America for an operation to help him cope with cerebral palsy.
Volunteer Len Bealing was awarded a certificate of appreciation for his regular help with the Lions’ Christmas float.
