The Melksham Lions Club marked the end of their fundraising year with a celebratory evening at the White Hart in Atworth last month.
The event saw club president Simon White confirmed to continue in the role for another year. “Usually, the previous year’s president hands over to the new president but in this case, we are keeping with Simon White,” said club member Paul Carter.
Simon is a founding member of the 51-year-old Melksham Lions Club, having been involved since its inception and playing a key role in supporting local people and causes.
“Our end-of-year celebration was an evening of food, drink and boys vs girls skittles – and Simon graciously accepted the wooden spoon on behalf of the boys’ team,” added Paul.
The club is now inviting new members to join them. “If you’d like to join us in our fundraising activities, we meet on the second Monday of the month at the Kings Arms at 7.15pm,” said Paul. “Feel free to wander in and see what we get up to.”
