THE White Hart at Atworth has a number of gigs and charity events lined up for the coming weeks, for all the community to get involved with.
This Friday, 14th September, the Corinthian Casuals are back with a bang as they gig at The White Hart.
The sax-driven rock n roll, blues and classic pop band have returned to life on the road, and will be playing from 9pm to 11.30pm.
On Monday 17th September, the White Hart will host another of its popular quiz nights, this time raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society. All money raised from the night will help towards the pub’s target of raising £40,000 since 2009 before the end of this year.
Teams of four are welcome, with an entry cost of £2.50 per person. Complimentary chips are served at half-time.
On Friday 21st September, the pub welcomes Savvy Soul for the first time to the stage.
Savvy Soul is a Bath/Bristol based party band with a difference. Savvy’s sound is a ‘hi-energy’ mix of genres reminiscent of the old R&B/Soul age but ‘gilt-edged’ with rock. There’s something for absolutely everyone in their large and varied repertoire.
Savvy was formed with fun, dancing and partying in mind. Its seasoned band members know which songs work best and choose not to just churn out the tired ‘old’ tunes, but rather perform the more unusual ones – and of course adding their special ‘Savvy twist’. With smooth soulful female vocals, gritty/bluesy guitar lines, all backed by the powerhouse of Savvy’s rhythm section, it really is quite simply something to behold.
The band will play from 9pm to 11.30pm.
