THERE’S lots coming up at Seend Community Centre in the coming weeks.
On Saturday 12th November, teams of up to four are invited to pit their wits against Graham and Tony’s quizzical questions at the Grand Autumn Quiz Night. Starting at 7.45pm, there will be prizes, bar and interval snacks. Entry per head is £2. If you book ahead you’ll get extra nibbles on your table. Call 01380 828617.
Máire Ní Chathasaigh and Chris Newman, the acclaimed and award-winning harp and guitar duo, will perform on Friday 18th November at Seend Community Centre as part of the Rural Arts Touring Scheme. Starting at 7.30pm, expect a unique and breath-taking blend of traditional Irish music, hot jazz, bluegrass and baroque, spiced with striking new compositions and presented with wonderful warmth and charm. Tickets cost £10 each from Steve and Karen Cubberley – 01380 828423 – or from the Community Centre. Seating will be café style; you are welcome to bring your own food. Drinks may be purchased from the bar.
The Seend Wine and Food Fair will take place on Saturday 19th November, from 7.30-10.30pm in Seend Community Centre. You are invited to taste a range of 16 wines and do a bit of festive food shopping at stalls run by: Olives ’n’ Stuff, The Wiltshire Bee Centre, Rosie’s Relish & Pickle, Tea Inc, Coco Chemistry, A Piece of Cake and Glastonbury Dairy Cheeses. Tickets are available from the Community Centre or from Seend Shop/PO. £8 buys you six wine tastings and a buffet supper. Proceeds to Seend Community Centre.
