An evening of free entertainment is returning to the Market Place this month with the next Friday Light Live event.
The event on Friday 26th June from 6pm to 7pm will feature David Toya, a jazz and soul vocalist. Audiences can expect an engaging performance of swing and jazz classics alongside a few surprises.
Friday Light Live is a new series of free, early evening events taking place on the last Friday of each month throughout the summer, organised by Melksham Town Council. It aims to bring residents and visitors into the town centre, support local performers and encourage people to explore Melksham’s cafés, pubs and businesses as part of a vibrant evening economy.
The June event follows the success of the inaugural Friday Light Live in May, where Frome Street Bandits brought energy and atmosphere to the town centre.
A spokesperson from Melksham Town Council said, “Each month, Market Place is transformed into a relaxed, welcoming space with tables and chairs, where people can sit, socialise and enjoy a varied programme of live performances. The events are designed to be accessible, family-friendly and easy to drop into, whether you stay for a short while or the full performance.”
