Three local artists are showing their work this month at the Art House Cafe Gallery: Shelley Ashkovski, Ruth Juneman and Pete Edwards.
Shelley Ashkovski is a qualified secondary art teacher and a fine artist who specialises in drawing. She has developed a love of realism and works in a range of media, but prefers to use the ballpoint pen.
Inspired by a range of other contemporary ballpoint artists, Shelley’s work covers a range of subjects including nature, cityscapes and portraits, for which she takes commissions.
By contrast, Ruth Juneman paints in watercolour, pastel, acrylics and recently, oils, using the different media for different styles of painting. She has always had a love of drawing and painting and has tried many styles and studied under many tutors including two years spent studying Chinese Brush Painting and another two years studying watercolour. Her work has been exhibited and sold in the UK and abroad for the last 20 years.
Pete Edwards is a young, local artist who enjoys walking and playing the guitar.
Three very different artists’ work on display this month. Come and see what you think, admire their paintings and have a delicious cake with your tea or coffee. What could be better?
