MUSICIANS from Melksham will be joining forces to put on a show in Bath next month, when former George Ward pupils, Thought Forms will headline the event.
Thought Forms will play the gig on Saturday 19th December to put an end to a successful year which saw them support critically acclaimed bands Marmozets and Portishead, as well as playing at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.
At the gig, promoted by local man Reuben Tyghe and his RMT Music Productions, Thought Forms will play alongside former schoolmate Dom Bailey and his band Charivari. Dom runs 9 Volt Leap studios in Melksham’s Avonside Enterprise Park.
Thought Forms’ guitarist Charlie Romijn said, “We’re really looking forward to the show – it will be a great end to the year for us to be playing with good friends and musicians who we really admire.
“We’ve always kept in close touch with Reuben and Dom over the years. We frequent Dom’s studio and Reuben has been successful with his band Port Erin. We started our bands at roughly the same time and we’ve done several gigs together. He’s promoting this one under RMT Music Productions which has been putting on some really brilliant gigs locally which is a breath of fresh air.
“We’ve had a very satisfying year so far – after our live dates we settled into the studio to begin work on our next album so we’re looking forward to playing again in December and debuting some of the new material we’ve been working on!
“We haven’t played locally for a while but it’s always great when we do get the chance as it’s so lovely to see friendly faces, people who have been there since the beginning when we played our first ever shows over 10 years ago at places like The Parsons Nose, George Ward School’s infamous “Rock Concert” events and Moles’ Battle Of The Bands. We really enjoy it.”
The show will start at 7.30pm on Saturday 19th December. The line-up includes Iceman Furniss Quartet, Charivari, Milon, and Thought Forms.
Advance tickets can be bought for £8.75 via www.thought-forms.co.uk or Bristol Ticket Shop.
