Over £12,000 has been raised for Wiltshire Air Ambulance from a Charity Summer Party run by local accountancy firm, Gooding Accounts, in partnership with Kingstons Estate Agents. The funds will keep this lifesaving service operational from their air-base in Semington for an entire 24 hours.
“A charity team from both businesses hosted a fantastic event, welcoming more than 200 clients, colleagues and friends to Trowbridge Rugby Club on Saturday evening,” said Emma Phillips from Gooding Accounts.
“Guests were treated to two fantastic sets from Frome party band The Hammervilles, a barbecue from Westbury’s Butcher Bros and a photo booth from Amber Louise Photography – alongside a visit from the Wiltshire Air Ambulance team including their mascot, Marsha.
“Some fantastic lots, including a ride in a McLaren and a luxury holiday in Bude, helped boost the total by £4,500 in a charity auction hosted by auctioneer Gordon Brockman.”
Gooding Accounts’ founder Sam Gooding said, “The evening was a great success and we’re delighted to have raised such a huge amount of money for a charity that’s so close to our hearts. We’d like to say a big ‘thank you’ to our corporate charity sponsors who supported us by donating towards our fundraising total.”
Kingstons’ owner, Lee Emery said, “It was a fantastic evening and wow, what an amazing amount to raise for such a worthwhile cause! Many thanks to all our sponsors and the teams at both Kingstons and Gooding for organising the event and helping ensure everyone had a great time.”
The Gooding Accounts’ team will continue with their charity fundraising as they aim to raise £50,000 by the end of 2024 to celebrate their 10th anniversary.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance will be supported again in less than two weeks’ time as a team of 13 from Goodings’ offices in Melksham, Westbury and Warminster travel to Snowdon to tackle the mountain for sunrise, in a bid to raise a further £2,500 for the charity. “With a Golf Day in aid of Dorothy House Hospice later in July, plus a Quiz Night and Sportsman’s Dinner in the autumn, there’s plenty to look forward to,” added Emma. “Learn more and book tickets for future events by visiting the Gooding Accounts charity page at goodingaccounts.co.uk.”
