MELKSHAM dad, Darren Phillips ran the Edinburgh Marathon for the fourth time, raising £601 for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
Darren ran the race on 31st May in memory of his sister Michelle Phillips who was tragically killed in a car accident in Devon in 2004, when she was aged 26.
Darren explained, “The charity means a lot to me and my family. My mum, dad and friends and family have now raised £13,828.36 in memory of Michelle.”
A keen runner, Darren takes part in local half marathons, but the Edinburgh Marathon was the big one for him. Darren said, “I completed the marathon in 4hrs and 41 mins which is a personal best!
“Although heavy rain was forecast it was just very windy. The support from friends and family has been great, but also the local community have sponsored me which I really appreciate.”
