THE Manor C of E primary school has appointed a new principal, Michael Park. The current interim principal, Anna Willcox, will depart the school to continue work at The White Horse Federation.
Starting as a year four teacher in Manchester, Michael Park has over 30 years of experience as a teacher across the country in Plymouth, Bath, and Wiltshire. In his most recent role, he led Princecroft Primary for ten years, improving outcomes, and leading the school to a ‘Good’ Ofsted report.
Michael Park said, “I wanted a new challenge and when I visited The Manor, I was impressed by the enthusiasm and passion of the whole school team. I want the children in The Manor to have the very best education and I hope that we can work together as a school community to make that happen.
“It has the opportunity and potential to be a great school that provides an excellent education for the children in the Melksham community.”
In his spare-time, Michael, who lives locally with his two children, is a keen runner and has completed both the London and New York marathon.
In the coming weeks, he will be introducing himself to parents and carers. Highlighting the importance of communication between parents and the school he said, “A school cannot work alone and it needs the support of the whole school community. I hope we can work in partnership to help give the very best education to the children at The Manor.”
The Manor C of E Primary School is a member of The White Horse Federation multi-academy trust. Speaking about the appointment, executive director of primary education, Simon Cowley said, “In Michael, we are hiring an experienced teacher with an exceptional record of school improvement as a school leader. I look forward to working with him to help keep The Manor on the path towards becoming an outstanding school.”
