MELKSHAM’S new music festival event will take place on Saturday 20th May 2023 and tickets are now on sale.
Shambles Festival, which will be held at the King George V playing field, is being organised by Melksham DJ, James Wilkins, with the backing of the town council. The event has the capacity for 500 people and has been described by James as an ‘inclusive community event’ showcasing arts and culture from local talent, with an emphasis on dance music.
Speaking to Melksham News earlier in the year James said, “I have lived in Melksham my entire life and I am hugely passionate about music. Since leaving school I have been lucky enough to DJ in venues in Bath, Bristol, and even Budapest.
“I’ve become completely immersed in the world of live music events and would love to use this opportunity to involve myself in a project for the community that brings a piece of that to Melksham. That’s why I’m aiming for Shambles Festival to encourage local artists, businesses, and traders to get involved and benefit from the festival.”
All ticket holders must be aged 18+. The event will start at 12pm and end at 10pm. DJ sets will be played in the Big Top tent, and there will also be food stalls and a bar. For more information and to purchase tickets visit the Shambles Festival website – www. shamblesfestival.co.uk/
