A local woman has presented Wiltshire Mind with a cheque after raising over £7,000 for the charity through her sixth annual fundraiser, which supports mental health services in the local community.
Tracie Winslow handed over a cheque for £6,787.28 to Joe McTiernan from Wiltshire Mind at a special presentation evening held recently at The Pilot in Bowerhill, where she has hosted her fundraisers over the years. She says that with additional funds still coming in, the total raised from her latest event in September has surpassed £7,000.
“Thanks again to everyone involved, especially all those who helped and performed at the fundraiser in September and presentation night,” says Tracie, who won last year’s Melksham News Person of the Year award for her fundraising efforts and has said that this year’s fundraiser is her final one.
“I would like to thank James and Max at The Pilot for letting me hold everything there again this year, as well as their wonderful staff.
“Kickin Sistas and Tyler B performed at the cheque presentation; the atmosphere was amazing, with so much support.”
Tracie also gave special thanks to Caprinos Pizza Melksham, which sold food at the fundraiser and donated the takings of £300. She said that with funds still coming in, she has raised over £7,000 in total.
