A MELKSHAM local is preparing to abseil 200ft down the Avon Gorge next month for charity.
Debbie Vines will be raising money for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance at the event on Sunday 14th April.
Debbie said, “Whilst I was catching up with the newspapers, I saw the articles in Melksham News and Wiltshire Times asking for help. Thinking what an amazing opportunity, could I be brave and give it a go? I thought I’d be too late on applying and learnt two days later I got the thumbs up, arghh!
“The pressure is now on, not only with the anticipation but also with gaining support with my fundraising for this essential life-saving service.
“Wiltshire Air Ambulance needs our donations as it receives no help from the Government or National Lottery grants and needs just over £10,000 per day to keep flying and saving lives in Wiltshire.
“Whatever you can help me raise, large or small, it all adds up and will contribute to one day being the help needed for a colleague, friend or loved one.
