A LOCAL woman ran the Simplyhealth Great Bristol 10k to raise money for Fight for Sight on Sunday 5th May.
The route took Magda Everett on a run with a view, past the iconic Avon Gorge and Clifton Suspension Bridge.
“It was a challenging run but the feeling at the finish line was absolutely worth it,” says Magda, who works for Specsavers in Bank Street, Melksham. “I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who sponsored me to run for this great cause.
“I wanted to get back into fitness and am a keen runner, so the 10k was the perfect opportunity.
“Choosing to support Fight for Sight was important to me as the charity carries out valuable research to prevent sight loss, which is at the heart of everything we do here at Specsavers.”
Fight for Sight is the UK’s largest charity helping people who are living with eye conditions by finding new pioneering treatments to treat and prevent sight loss. They are currently funding over 160 research projects at 49 different universities and hospitals across the UK.
