MELKSHAM’S market traders have pledged to donate supplies Melksham Free Dining’s Easter meal on Wednesday 13th April.
“They are long term supporters of our charity,” said Louisa Lewis, founder of Melksham Free Dining, “and we are so grateful to have their support. Easter is such a special time and we want to make Easter with our diners special too.
“Charlie, our fishmonger is donating his special succulent prawns and as always Tracey’s fresh vegetables are very welcome. Sean’s fresh bread, Andy’s cakes and Jim’s cheeses can all be found in the Market Place on a Tuesday.”
“All the market traders are of such help to us,” said Deedee Macleod, trustee of the charity, “and we can always rely on them for their cheeky smiles and great encouragement. It is good to see how many people in our town support them, especially as our market traders generously support both our town and this worthwhile charity.
“We need our markets and we are so lucky to have such a good one. The happy ‘musketeers’ can be found in the Market Place, every Tuesday, without fail, no matter the weather, ensuring we have the opportunity to buy fresh produce. We want to encourage everyone to shop there.”
Louisa continues, “We have been running Melksham Free Dining for six months now, and have grown in numbers far more quickly than we ever imagined. The key to this growth is in our volunteers, a dedicated, fabulous group who have helped us bring this much needed service to Melksham and Melksham Without. Deedee and I would like to say a huge thank you to them. We couldn’t do it with you.”
Melksham Free Dining will be celebrating Easter on Wednesday 13th April from 1pm – 3pm at Bowerhill Village Hall, not only with a meal but also with fun activities – and who knows the Easter Bunny may appear!
Melksham Free Dining is open every Wednesday. To book your place for a free lunch please telephone Louisa Lewis on 01225 374232.
