A Melksham business has received a business boost from retail entrepreneur, Theo Paphitis.
In December last year, owner of Blue Eyes Bow Ties, Helen Clements tweeted Theo about her handmade limited edition bow tie business during ‘Small Business Sunday’ and was one of six weekly winners to gain a re-tweet by Theo to his 500,000 Twitter followers.
Theo re‐tweeted Helen’s message to his 500,000 followers and as a result, www.blueeyesbowties.com has received 250 more followers and extra orders for their handmade bow ties. They are also profiled on the Small Business Sunday website – www.theopaphitissbs.com, that is exclusive to all Small Business Sunday winners.
Helen said, I’ve only been in business since last spring but have orders coming in worldwide for my unique bow ties. It is great to have support from Theo because he’s so well-known and respected in the business world. Theo has recognised my hard work and helped spread the word about what I do to his following.
“On Friday 3rd February I attended the annual Small Business Sunday event with Theo Paphitis, Deborah Meaden and John Mills. They spent the day giving talks on business and answering our questions. I collected my certificate from Theo and got really useful business advice.
“On Wednesday 8th February I won a similar award from Jacqueline Gold CBE, owner of Anne Summers. This award specifically supports women in business.”
