MELKSHAM Carnival committee is looking for groups or individuals who would like to get involved with this year’s carnival.
Simon Hedley, chair of the carnival committee said, “Every year the people of Melksham come out and line the streets to enjoy the procession. The carnival procession is an excellent way to highlight your business, charity or organisation.
“Even if you are an individual, don’t be shy, you will be most welcome to come and join in the fun.
“This is a free event put on for Melksham but there are considerable running costs involved and we rely entirely on grants and fundraising to put on this fabulous event each year. If there are any businesses that feel they would benefit from this event and they would like to contribute please contact the carnival committee through the carnival website.
“This year we are also extending the day with a traditional Fun Day in the park. There will be craft stalls, entertainers, vintage rides, a fun fair, face painters, tug of war competitions, carnival royalty, charity stalls, ice cream trucks, plus refreshments. You are also welcome to bring your own picnic.
“If you are a charity, business or children’s entertainer and you would like a stall, please have a look at the carnival website for details.” www.melkshamcarnival.co.uk
