THE Melksham Carnival’s ‘Queen of Queens’, Malina Skuse, earned her place in the royalty at this year’s Party in the Park, when she administered first aid to a member of the crowd.
She was watching ABBA tribute band Arrival UK when an elderly woman in the audience was knocked to the ground.
Malina said, “I was off-duty but I’m a member of St. John’s Ambulance as well as being a healthcare professional, so I was able to give the woman first-aid. I managed to keep her comfortable until my colleagues took over caring for her. Unfortunately she had to be taken to the RUH in Bath, but I’ve heard she is making a good recovery.”
Malina said she spent the morning being pampered with the rest of the royalty, who were treated to a meal at Wetherspoon’s, a hair and nail makeover, and a photoshoot.
She said “The hair and makeup people were really good, it was like being a princess! I had a great day; the carnival was fantastic and it was an amazing turnout for Melksham.”
