With voices fresh from the summer break, Melksham Choral Society has started rehearsing for their next concert to be held in December.
The rafters at the Rachel Fowler Centre were filled with the resounding choruses which make up Handels Messiah and if the sounds that were made on the first practice night are an example of what is to come then, the concert is not to be missed.
Sheila Jackson, on behalf of the choral society said, “What is missing is the lack of men, particular tenors. Why is it that men are so shy when it comes to singing? Medical evidence proves that singing is one of the best ways to stay fit both physically and mentally. It is also a great way to relax and make new friends.
“We are a warm, friendly group of people who enjoy singing – come and join us you will be welcome. We meet every Thursday evening during term time at 7.30pm at the Rachel Fowler Centre.”
The concert will be held on Saturday 19th December at the United Methodist Church, Melksham, starting at 7.30pm.
