MELKSHAM School of Tap, Ballet and Modern will be performing Sleeping Beauty at the end of this month.
The performance will take place in Bradford-on-Avon at St. Margaret’s Hall on Thursday 26th October to Saturday 28th October.
“We are proud to announce a timeless classic brought to life through the dance,” said the show director and choreographer Jayne Green. “This eagerly anticipated event promises to captivate audiences of all ages with its brilliant choreography, beautiful costumes and a story that has charmed generations.
“Sleeping Beauty tells the magical tale of Princess Aurora, who, on her christening day, is cursed by the wicked fairy Maleficent to fall into a deep slumber on her sixteenth birthday, only to be awakened by true love’s kiss. The kingdom is plunged into despair but the good fairy, Merryweather, ensures that the princess isn’t forgotten and that true love will ultimately prevail.
“This production prom-ises to be a visual feast for the eyes, with beautiful costumes and a cast of dancers aged four to 82 who have been diligently rehearsing. From the ethereal beauty of the forest, where Aurora first meets her prince, to the grandeur of the royal ball, the dancers will transport the audience into a world of wonder and romance.
“It is so lovely to see our dancers have their chance to shine after months of hard work and dedication. This production is suitable for the whole family and we encourage everyone to come and witness the magic of dance as we bring this favourite fairytale to life.”
