FOLLOWING the success of the 2013 Melksham Food and Drink Festival in September, the committee have started making plans for next year.
The focus in 2014 will be on the Food Festival Fair, a one day event on Sunday 15th June in the grounds of Melksham House. Around 2000 people attended the Food Festival Fair last year, which attracted people from miles around, with around 70 stalls, cooking demonstrations, entertainment throughout the day and a fiery chilli eating competition.
Although the Food Festival is supported by the town council, a great deal of the planning and organising is done by volunteers. As with all the great community events in Melksham, the time, creativity and enthusiasm of a few fantastic people make the Food Festival possible, and the committee is looking for any more people who would like to get involved.
The first committee meeting to plan the 2014 event will be in early January, and anyone who is interested in joining the team can call 01225 704187 to get involved, or email foodfestival@melk shamtown.co.uk.
