The Melksham Heritage Discover Fair took place at the Well House Collection at Well House Manor on Spa Road on Saturday 5th July.
Guest speakers included Kate Bevan from English Heritage, and John Forbat, evacuated to Melksham during the second world war and revisiting for the first time, who was signing copies of his book during the day.
Around 80 people visited during the day, seeing a variety of stalls, listening to the talks, seeing the various artefacts and displays and talking with experts to help research their Melksham Families and homes.
A great success – “when can we do it again” people were asking. Graham Ellis said, “The Well House Collection is open daily, as is the cafe – just pop in. And we have a few copies of John’s book (signed copies) available at £9.99 … call or get in touch ahead of time if you want to meet up with our archivist or curator, or have specific questions. Love to see you.”
