THE Wiltshire Health & Care Community team at Melksham Hospital are calling on local knitters and crocheters for a secret project!
As a team, they are undertaking a project involving poppies and are asking for donations of knitted or crocheted red poppies for a secret project they have planned for November 2018.
Vicky Smith, clinical lead of the community team said, “We need as many poppies as we can make before 1st October and as a busy team we will never be able to make enough. For this ‘secret’ to transpire as planned, we really need your help! We need lots and lots! Any size and design is welcome, but we do ask that they are any shade of red.
“We will be collecting any donations during the month of November for The Royal British Legion in collection pots around the hospital site alongside this special project.”
If you can knit or crochet and would like to contribute to their cause, please drop your poppies off to Melksham Hospital any time between 9.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday before 1st October.
For any questions, please speak to reception at Melksham Hospital who can contact the team or email Vicky Smith on Victoria.smith 21@nhs.net.
The team consists of district and community nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and rehab support workers, based in Melksham Community Hospital, covering Melksham and Bradford-on-Avon and surrounding areas.
