Around 300 runners headed to Melksham for the 13th edition of the Wiltshire 10 road race earlier this month.
The event started at the King George V Playing Fields and followed a route along the Millennium Riverside Walk and into Forest Lane, before heading out and around Lacock, finishing back in the town park.
The race raised £2,000 for the young person’s charity Youth Action Wiltshire.
Organisers said, “Leading the field home in a time of 54 minutes and 57 seconds was Peter Grist of Team Bath AC, with Timothy Swinn from Bristol & West AC and Michael Passmore of Swindon Harriers hot on his heels.
“In the ladies’ race, Aine Halton-Hall of Chippenham Harriers claimed her first victory at the race, recording a time of 62 minutes and 34 seconds, with Jenny Carter of Team Bath AC second and Rachel Stowell of Bitton Road Runners third.”
Age group winners were: first MV40 – Tom Dudden of Team Bath AC; first MV50 – Christopher Redshaw of Avon Valley Runners; first MV60 – Paul Reddaway of Ware Joggers; first FV40 – Victoria Ryan of Wells City Harriers; first FV50 – Vicky Henderson of Corsham Running Club; first FV60 – Lynette Porter of Bitton Road Runners.
