The community has raised funds as part of this year’s Red Nose Day with non-school uniform days and various fun events.
The initiative raised funds for Comic Relief, which supports causes in the UK and around the world.
Students at Melksham Oak Community School raised £344 with a non-school uniform day, a cake sale and a treasure hunt. They also held a Year 7 fun run on the field and a beat the goalie competition.
Bowerhill Primary School held a ‘crazy clothes day’, and pupils at The Manor CE Primary School and Little Lights Nursery wore red clothing for the day.
Local resident Sue Mortimer ran the Melksham parkrun dressed as a clown, raising £184.
She said, “I would like to thank friends and family, people from the Cons Club and Liberal Club for helping me raise £184. Thank you to fellow parkrunners and parkrun volunteers who turn up every week to make our Saturday mornings special.”
