MELKSHAM Motor Spares hosted its biggest ever trade show last week, as part of the company’s ongoing 50th anniversary celebrations.
Around 500 people attended the event at Oakfields stadium, with 55 exhibitors displaying what’s on offer at the motor spares suppliers, which was first established in 1968 on Church Street.
A charity raffle at the trade show raised in excess of £5,000, which will be divided equally between 15 charities selected by Melksham Motor Spares’ staff. One of the charities to benefit is Cancer Research UK, who have been chosen by the company as their official charity for their 50th anniversary year.
Marketing and compliance manager for Melksham Motor Spares, Tanya Elling said, “It was a huge success, the turnout was fantastic and there was a great atmosphere – it was buzzing! We have had some good feedback – it really showcased us as a company and showed what we can do. We have got the biggest stock holding in the whole of the south-west. We’re really pleased about how it went.
“We would like to say thank you to everyone who supported the event and made it possible – without their help, the event would not have come together.”
More staff fundraising events for Cancer Research UK are planned for the rest of the year, including a sponsored walk, a sponsored cycle and a quiz night. Melksham Motor Spares is also sponsoring the Formula Ford Championship at Castle Combe as part of their anniversary celebrations.
