A MELKSHAM mother whose child is affected by asthma has raised over £650 for the charity Asthma UK following a children’s fun day and nearly new sale she organised.
Melanie Metcalfe organised the event because her three-year-old daughter Evie is a sufferer of asthma which sometimes affects what she is able to do.
The event took place at Bromham Social Centre recently with a variety of activities including face painting and a balloon maker, colouring and crafts, photo booth, tombola, games for children as well as a nearly new sale of children’s and baby items, as well as cakes and refreshments. There was also a raffle that was well supported by Melksham businesses.
In total £652.52 was raised. Melanie said, “I am very pleased with how it went and grateful to all those that supported us. It is for a fantastic cause and to raise so much is great.
“I would like to thank all the local businessess that supported the event such as Just Nails, Waitrose Melksham, Toy Shop, Gaming galore, Sainsbury’s Melksham, Gompels, Komix, Factory Shop, Greyhound Bromham and Coral Cove soft play centre.
“After the success of this event I think I will definitly consider doing some more fundraising next year.”
