MELKSHAM Music Festival, which incorporates Melksham’s Party in the Park, are seeking more volunteers to help with a planned Friday evening concert at the King George V Playing Field.
The Party in the Park this year will be held on Saturday 12th July and the concert is being planned for Friday 11th July. The organisers have concluded that the Friday evening concert can only go ahead if sufficient volunteers come forward to make it possible to run the event.
The volunteers would be required to help with admission at the gates and with the clean-up operation. A volunteers ‘goodies’ package will be on offer to each person who volunteers which will include food and drinks vouchers to the value of £20 and free entry tickets to both the Friday evening concert and Party in the Park (family of four entry where applicable). The work in shifts would be during the Friday evening and Saturday morning.
Tom Sangster of the festival said, “We would love to go ahead with this Friday evening concert which would be great for the town, and in effect give us a weekend of entertainment in the park to work alongside the carnival.
“We have to be realistic, though, as it can only work if we get the right level of voluntary support. A few have already come forward but we would need more to be able to go ahead. Once we know for sure that the concert can go ahead, we will be in a position then to confirm and release details.”
Persons interested are asked to contact the festival by email at melksham party@fsmail.net The cut-off date for applications is Friday 18th April.
