Students from Melksham Oak School took to the stage this month to perform their end-of-year production of High School Musical.
A total of 74 students performed the show for parents and members of the community over three days from 15th to 17th July.
The Disney Channel musical follows two high school students who discover a shared passion for singing.
Year 10 student Chloe Witcombe, who is also part of Trowbridge Musical Theatre, said, “It’s so much fun being part of a production at school, you build so many new friendships with so many different people in all different years. It’s so nice to be onstage and get to show everyone what you’ve been doing for months and show your talents to everyone. It’s really nice.”
Performing arts teacher Jess Williams praised the students’ work.
She said, “It’s really important that the students get the opportunity to put on a show because it develops their friendships, their communication, confidence and performance skills and they get to feel part of a community that they get to put on such an incredible event. I am incredibly proud of them.”
