Melksham parkrun invites more volunteers to keep event ‘running’.

The team at Melksham parkrun has said volunteering roles are available to help ensure the free event takes place every week.

There are two parkrun events in King George V Park – a 5km run every Saturday at 9am and the junior parkrun every Sunday at 9am.

“Neither of these events would go ahead without the dedicated volunteers. It’s the volunteers that make parkrun happen,” explained parkrun volunteer, Sue Mortimer.

“There are a variety of volunteer roles such as course set-up, run director, marshalling, timing, results recording, etc. Whatever you want to do, there is a role for everyone.

“If you are thinking about becoming a parkrun volunteer, why not come along to one of our events on a Saturday for 5k or Sunday for junior 2k and see what we do and meet the team.”
