We’ve seen 129 crimes and incidents recorded in Melksham over the last fortnight. Unusually, the overwhelming majority of them have been standalone incidents.
We’ve seen fewer shoplifting offences than in previous weeks, but a slight uptick in anti-social behaviour generally. The focus from the team has mainly been around some ongoing projects which are at an early stage.
We’ve closed our Priority Area for Williams Close, as the number of reported issues has been 0 since we utilised a Closure Order on one particular property. This will be replaced with a new Priority Area surrounding safeguarding of some specific vulnerable adults, who were at risk of repeat victimisation.
There’s also another planned change to our team. Sgt Twyford is leaving the team on 8th May, to a new role within the Force. Sgt Gemma Rutter is taking over and will be responsible for overseeing the Melksham team. She brings with her a wealth of experience, from an extensive and varied background in response, neighbourhood policing and CID.
James Twyford 2448 Police Sergeant
