35 children and staff from The Manor School travelled to the O2 in London to be part of the UK’s largest children’s choir on 28th January.
They had been learning songs such as ‘Living on a Prayer’, ‘The Lord’s Prayer’, a pop medley and Folk Songs of England to name but a few.
Children signed up to the school’s afterschool choir club run by teacher Crystal Clifford and spent every rehearsal learning the songs and some of the hip hop dance moves.
They then spent three hours in rehearsals at the O2, joined by 7,300 children from across the country and performed to a sell-out arena later in the day, alongside stars such as the rock band Semple and X Factor’s Stacey Solomon.
“Despite the rain and the long coach journey the children enjoyed every minute of it and are already asking about next year’s event,” said Crystal Clifford
“The Manor School would like to say thank you to all the parents, children and staff who made this event so fantastic and supported everyone with the endless rehearsals and singing practise! Bring on 2015!”
