A LOCAL group behind ‘Melksham Rocks’ – the local phenomenon that involves decorating rocks and hiding them around the town for people to discover – is hosting an event this weekend.
Organisers are asking the community to decorate rocks based on the theme of ‘bugs’ and then bring to the Melksham war memorial in Canon Square between 8am this Saturday 18th August and 2pm on Sunday 19th August, after which the rocks will be hidden around the town.
Organisers say, “Love rock painting, hiding and finding? Join in with the ‘Big Bug Line’! Bring your rocks to the war memorial and add them to the line being created around the wall.
“After 2pm on Sunday, you can come back and choose some rocks to take away and hide in new locations for others to discover and enjoy. Simple!
Paint some new rocks to bring along, bring ones you already have or just come down and see which wonderful creations have been left by others. If you’re decorating rocks, don’t forget to write on the back ‘Melksham Rocks’.”
