MELKSHAM Scouts’ Claire Neal, who is the Group Scout Leader, Beaver Leader and District Badge Secretary, was presented with the district ‘Sheila Belsten Trophy’ at the group’s fun evening at the District Jubilee Wood Camp Site on Thursday 18th July 2019.
The Scouts say, “The award is in recognition of excellent and outstanding service given to the Wiltshire West District Scouts, which Claire has done over many years.
“Congratulations also go to local Scout Section Assistant, David Williams aka ‘Grisly,’ who was awarded and presented with the Chief Scout’s Silver Acorn Award at the fun evening, by the District Commissioner, Chris Broom. He has been invited to ‘A Day of Celebration and Achievement’ at Windsor Castle in April 2020.
“David has helped and worked in the Beaver section with the Melksham Scout Group for over 26 years.
“The section numbers have always remained healthy which is a testament to the quality of the programme and the continuous hard work that David has assisted with in the running of the section. David’s contribution to Scouting in Melksham has been invaluable, with his dedication and commitment over the years, and he has tirelessly assisted with the fundraising for the group to improve and update their headquarters so that the group can thrive.
David has always supported the group, district and county fully with activities and the many other ways his group has interacted themselves and with the rest of the movement.”
