THE New Year sees a whole host of events put on by Melksham Seniors.
On Monday 15th January at 1.15pm at Melksham Assembly Hall, prior to their scheduled film, there will be a presentation from NHS Wiltshire about the new prescription ordering system, which has caused local concerns with the public, who will be given the opportunity to express their views and make suggestions for an improved system.
Brian Warwick, chairman of Melksham Seniors said, “People say it has taken them a full day to obtain a human voice on the dedicated phone line for ordering their prescriptions. We are deeply concerned that older people are being put at risk, especially over the Christmas period.”
The film following at 2.15pm will be ‘My Cousin Rachel’ based on the Daphne Du Maurier famous novel starring Rachel Weisz and Sam Claflin.
On Monday 5th February the group will be relaunching the Activity Club at the Forest Community Centre, with a great new programme of exciting activities. More information will be published nearer the date.
The following film event at The Assembly Hall on Monday 19th February, will be the showing of the Judy Dench film ‘Victoria and Abdul’, which is a highly-acclaimed award-winner.
