MELKSHAM Sews Together is appealing for help to make personal protection items for local key workers.
The group says, “This is a shout out to any sewers that can spare time to sew for Melksham Sews Together – we are in need of sewers with access to a sewing machine.
“We are a group of local sewers that sew and donate to local people to help them stay safe whilst working. Everything we make is always donated at no cost to those receiving items requested.
“We make and donate masks, laundry bags, pinnies, hats, scrubs, and requests for masks are coming in quicker than we can make them.
“We are all self funding but will help with supplies if able. Please contact Melksham Sews Together if you are able to help or for information.
“Also needed is child friendly 100% cotton for masks going to local schools, nurseries, and community care teams. Please, we need you, so does our local community.”
