After the summer break, Melksham Speakers commences again on Tuesday 11th September at the Rachel Fowler Centre at 7.30pm.
The group reports, “The last year has been full of surprises with members obtaining certificates for speaking and winning competitions both locally and nationally. The club also celebrated its fifth year, with members enjoying a dinner.
“Melksham Speakers club is now in its sixth year and its success has been brought about by its members who have joined to get more confidence in everything that they do. To be a better speaker in all walks of life, better at communications both socially and in their career and to generally feel more confidence with themselves and what they want to achieve. It takes time and patience, but if at first you do not succeed, try, try again. The members are helpful and supportive and are all there for the same reason, to improve their lives. Standing up to speak is frightening, but feel the fear and do it anyway.
“It opens many doors and you can make your wildest dreams come true as several members have done so, by travelling abroad to go to a convention and also by working on cruise ships doing lectures. Whilst working, the member has had the opportunity of seeing many countries.
“The list of achievements is endless; it is all up to you. As this long hot summer draws to a close, please open our door to meet many kind and helpful people who will help you make your wishes come true and you will find confidence to get up and speak at any given situation without notes or being prompted. When acquiring this skill you will find your whole life will take on a new and happy meaning. A warm welcome awaits you, please join us. For more details please contact Sheila on 07726 537452.”
