Melksham Town Council has praised the efforts of one of their ‘Town Team’ who helped a rough sleeper find housing in Melksham last week.
Town warden, Joe Brandsgrove, became aware of the rough sleeper as he completed his duties around the town over the past few weeks.
Joe supported the individual to connect with the relevant section of Wiltshire Council that helps rehouse people and received the news last week that a home had been found in the local area.
Joe said, “The person had been homeless for two years. It was such great news that they were able to find them a place to live.”
Joe has continued to drop in on the previously homeless individual and recently helped set them up with a television.
Melksham Town Council’s clerk, Linda Roberts said, “Melksham is lucky to have a caretaking team who regularly go above and beyond to make Melksham a better place to live, including helping vulnerable members of the community.”
