Melksham Town Football Club will be holding a Sportsman evening on Thursday 2nd March, celebrating Mick Perrin’s 60th year of involvement with the club and raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust and Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
Chairman Darren Perrin said, “Melksham Town FC are delighted to announce they will be hosting a sportsman evening on Thursday March 2nd with the legendary football pundit and ex-manager Ian Holloway to celebrate Mick Perrin’s 60th year involved at Melksham Town FC.
“The evening will consist of a fish and chip supper with Phil King, the ex-Swindon Town, Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday player compering the evening with Bill Webb, the comedian, and of course Ian Holloway the main guest.
“There will be a big auction of some spectacular prizes of which the club will be making a donation to Teenage Cancer Trust and Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
“This should be a fitting evening to celebrate an incredible journey of longevity and loyalty to Mick as a player, secretary, chairman and now joint president of Melksham Town. Mick still does the turnstile on match days and without his contribution arguably the club would not be where it is today.
“Tickets cost £450 for 10 people and we are already nearly sold out so if interested please contact Darren Perrin on 07855 742960.”
Mike started playing for Town as a 16-year-old and, after hanging up his boots, became club secretary, then chairman before being made joint club president in 2016, with David Philips, positions they still hold.
