NOMINATIONS are now open for this year’s Melksham Young People Awards with the winners announced at a ceremony in November.
Local sponsors helped fund last year’s event and it is hoped that they and other local businesses and organisations are able to support this truly remarkable event again this year.
Cllr Jon Hubbard who chairs Melksham Extended Services said, “The Melksham Young People Awards 2014 provides a great opportunity to celebrate and recognise some of the spectacular young people that we have living in the Melksham Area.
“There are a number of awards that celebrate the amazing commitment, creativity and achievement of individuals and teams and I hope that Melksham will again tell us about the awesome young people who should receive these awards.”
Any young person under the age of 19 and living in the Melksham Community Area (Melksham, Bowerhill, Berryfields, Atworth, Broughton Gifford, Steeple Ashton, Great Hinton, Shaw, Whitley, Beanacre, Seend, Semington, Keevil, Bulkington and Poulshot) can be nominated for an award.
There are a number of categories for which a young person or team can be nominated: • Young Achiever Award • Outstanding Achiever Award • Young Carer Award • Volunteering Award • Young Leader Award • Sporting Individual Award • Sporting Team Award • Young Voice Award • School Council Award • Young Individual Arts Award • Young Team Arts Award.
