AS you marvel at another spectacular Christmas lights display in the Market Place and town centre, spare a thought for the brave volunteers who spent days decorating the town in stormy weather.
As the clock ticked down to the big switch-on, Melksham Christmas Lights volunteers braved the wind and torrential rain as Storm Diana approached the UK to make sure the town was looking its best and ready for Christmas.
Local resident, Barbara Carnell who was passing by said, “They all need medals today (27th November); I hope someone gave them hot drinks!”
