FOUR decorative Christmas cards have been designed by a Melksham photographer to help raise funds for the Christmas Lights Group.
Andy York, from Andy York Photography, has created four different Christmas cards. They show Melksham under the glow of the town’s Christmas lights or scenes from last year’s winter including King George V park under snow. The four designs also come in two different sizes.
Andy has used his own images on the front of the Christmas cards. With each card that is sold, Andy will donate the proceeds to Melksham Christmas Lights Group.
Each Christmas, dedicated volunteers from the Melksham Christmas Lights Group spend hundreds of hours transforming the town into a festive wonderland. The group decorates the town centre with thousands of Christmas lights, as well as illuminating the town’s Christmas tree.
Andy’s wife, Christine York said, “Paul Weymouth, his dad Alan, and all the volunteers do a brilliant job for the town and the lights get better and better each year. The job they do leaves us all proud of how the town looks at Christmas, so it’s good to help out where we can.
“It’s not just at Christmas they give up their time, but they are fundraising constantly though the year as well. We felt this is one way we could help them raise funds to continue their good work.”
