A FAMILY fun day is being held in memory of a local woman Emma Rodger, who died last April.
The event will take place at Forest Community Centre on Saturday 10th June and will raise funds for the cancer services at Royal United Hospital in Bath.
Emma’s sister, Lisa Caine, who is organising the event said, “We have so much planned with live music from some local Melksham talent; a mini funfair; food vendor; fancy dress competition; owls and snakes visiting; a tombola; craft stalls and so much more. My niece is also going to start the evening off my having her head shaved. Funds raised will be going towards supporting staff working in RUH cancer services in the new Dyson Cancer Centre.”
Holly Bryant, the in memory co-ordinator at RUHX, said, “We are extremely grateful to Lisa and her family for holding such a fantastic event to support the Royal United Hospital’s official charity, RUHX. The donations raised on the day will make a difference to our cancer services by helping us to continue providing extra extraordinary care for patients and their families. I wish everyone good luck on the day and a massive thank you to Lisa and her family for fundraising out in our community in memory of her sister Emma.”
The event will start at 12 noon. For more information search Emma’s Family Fundraiser on Facebook.
