A social group for men aged 65 and over will be returning to Melksham Library, following its award-winning success last year.
The new 12-week facilitated programme started on Tuesday 14th January, and is for men aged over 65 to meet in a small group setting to make new friends, share interests and experiences and enjoy time together.
It is run by Celebrating Age Wiltshire’s Creative Conversations programme and men wishing to attend the group must contact Celebrating Age Wiltshire first to book a space; they do not need to have attended the first session to join.
“We have very limited places available and ask that anyone interested needs to contact us to sign up,” says the creative producer for the charity, Rebecca Seymour.
The group was hailed a huge success by the men who attended it last year, when it won the Best Age-Friendly Outreach Award in the Fantastic for Families Awards 2024.
Members of the group also collaborated with a local professional musician, Bob Heath, to write and record a song titled We are the Grey People, which expresses their thoughts on life as an older person.
The group will run on Tuesdays from 11.30am to 1pm.
