Melksham High Street will potentially have its own new micropub early next year.
Subject to licensing and planning permissions, The Hiding Place on the site of The Old Bakery plan to open in late January.
Behind the project are local couple Malcolm Shipp and Karen Davis who are also part of the team at Stealth Brew Co in the town and The Vaults in Devizes which opened in October 2013.
Malcolm said, “Following the success of The Vaults we’ve been searching for a suitable premises in Melksham for almost four years, The Old Bakery ticks most of the boxes and is in a great location.”
The micropub will be mostly centred around modern craft beer and will naturally feature the brews from Stealth Brew Co plus specialist guest beers from around the UK.
Non beer drinkers will also be catered for with a range of gins, wines, ciders and soft drinks, but the focus will be on smaller independent brands.
Malcolm added, “This will be a unique offering for Melksham as there are no independent pubs in the town, and our focus will be on flavour, quality and most importantly, exceptional customer service. We’ve learned a lot from our other projects and believe we know how to make this a successful part of the leisure offering for the town.”
