A MELKSHAM-based mobile hairdresser, Lisa Norris, is into her tenth year bringing hair care to local people in their own homes.
Lisa offers all aspects of hairdressing in Melksham and the surrounding areas from colouring and hair styling to highlights and from dry cuts to blow dries.
“I love hairdressing and find it really rewarding,” she said. “I qualified in 1999 and began my own mobile business in 2015 and have been running it ever since apart from a brief period working in a salon for maternity cover.
“I love the personal touch I can provide by going to people’s homes. And It’s not just about the hair; it’s about the chats we have, the stories we share. I’ve become friends with many of my clients over the years.
“I’ve found that people like a mobile hairdresser with the convenience of me going to their house. A lot of people can’t make it to a salon due to various reasons, be it mobility issues or busy schedules, or simply prefer the comfort of their own homes.
“Many people, especially the elderly and those with young children, find it challenging to make it to a salon so, I decided to take the salon to them!”
Lisa’s personalised approach has earned her a loyal following with many clients still with her from her early days.
“Things have really taken off and I get lots of personal recommendations from customers and, of course, new customers from my advert in the Melksham News!” she said.
“I have a friendly approach and reasonable prices and I think that’s why my customers like me and have stayed with me. And being mobile means I can run my own business in Melksham. I was born here and love the town. It’s got a great community spirit and fabulous events like the carnival, Party in the Park and Christmas lights switch on and it’s great to be able to run a business here and play a part in the local community.”
