MELKSHAM Community Support volunteers have been thanked by local MP Michelle Donelan.
Volunteers who gave their time during lockdown to support others in the community – and still continue to do so – have received a personally signed letter of thanks from the MP.
Melksham Community Support reports, “Local MP Michelle Donelan dropped into Melksham to sign letters to all the volunteers that came forward and provided such fantastic support to those residents that required help with shopping, collecting prescriptions, delivering food bank parcels, walking dogs and just providing a friendly voice to chat to at the end of a phone; whether they were shielding or self isolating.
“Volunteers have been providing this support since March and the whole community joins in sending them our gratitude.
“We don’t know what the future weeks will bring to the Melksham area, but what is clear is that there will be a continuing need for those residents that do not have a support network locally.
“If you would like to volunteer then please get in touch: https://melkshamcommunity.co.uk/offer-help/. And if you require help (or are offering to help) then the number is still 01225 809265.”
